Easter 2016

Easter 2016

Services and Events - Easter 2016

Palm Sunday, 20th March

10.30am Family Communion This will be Palm Sunday with a difference! We will begin in Church House as usual, and then we will process into church, where we will watch as the action moves from the back, stage by stage towards the front of the church, through the events of Palm Sunday, eventually reaching the altar where we will share Communion. This will be a service for all ages, so the Sunday Clubs won't be meeting. Don't miss this ... all the drama will be in the church!
6.30pm Song and Scripture for Palm Sunday A choral service with readings

Holy Week

Monday 21st March
9pm Compline A quiet spoken service.

Tuesday 22nd March
9pm Compline A quiet spoken service.

Wednesday 23rd March
9pm Compline A quiet spoken service.

Maundy Thursday, 24th March

4.30pm - 6.30pm Maundy Meal Another new idea for 2016. We will all meet together in the church hall to share in a Passover meal, just like Jesus and the disciples. A 'usual' tea-time meal will also be served (2 courses, main and pudding). Activities, readings and prayers will accompany the meal, and we will share Communion, just like Jesus did. This will be suitable for ALL ages, including the youngest children. We're aiming to make the meal more family-friendly and accessible. Let us know what you think!
7pm Gethsemane:
Service of Reflection
Following the meal, for those who would like it, there will be a quieter spoken service of reflection on the events in the garden of Gethsemane. It will last approximately half an hour and will end with stripping the church, ready for the next three days.

Good Friday, 25th March

9am Easter Breakfast Everyone welcome! Join us in trying out a new approach to this year's Easter breakfast which truly embraces our sense of community and sharing. Rather than selling tickets, we would welcome everyone bringing items for breakfast which can be combined and shared with others. A suggested list of items is be available at the back of church, in the Twinkles Area or online via Doodle (please email Sarah Muzzelle for the link). Please contact Sarah for more details. Click here for the details on a pdf.
