Advent at St Mary’s Bromley

for Children and Young People and their Families

Advent is a season of expectation and preparation but what are we preparing for?
Christmas of course and the coming of Jesus to the world.

The liturgical colours at St Mary’s will change to purple during Advent and an Advent ring/ wreath will appear with 5 candles.
These changes will take place on 29th November which is the first Sunday in Advent.
This is the Sunday when the first candle will be lit.

For the next 4 weeks we will be giving you some craft ideas of things to make in preparation for our Zoom Nativity on Sunday 20th December at 3pm.
This Sunday, the Sunday before Advent, is often called Stir Up Sunday. Can you find out why it is called Stir Up Sunday?

Today if you would like to make your own Advent Ring in preparation for Advent then you are invited to follow the link here
