Services and Events - Easter 2018

With the exception of the 7.30pm Maundy Meal, there is no charge for any of the Easter services and events.

Palm Sunday, 25th March
10.30am Family Communion We will begin in Church House as usual, and then process into church. An all-age interactive service, so the Sunday Clubs won't be meeting. Refreshments afterwards.
6.30pm Song & Scripture for Palm Sunday A sequence of music and words leading from the boldness of Christ's entry into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday to his betrayal and ultimate sacrifice.
Holy Week    
Monday 26th March
9pm Compline A quiet spoken service.
Tuesday 27th March
9pm Compline A quiet spoken service.
Wednesday 28th March
9pm Compline A quiet spoken service.
Maundy Thursday, 29th March
4.30pm - 6.30pm Family Maundy Meal
(In the Church Hall)
Part worship, part fellowship. We will enjoy a meal together while hearing about the Passover meal that Jesus shared with his friends. Family-friendly worship and activities, and we will end by sharing Communion together.
7.30pm Maundy Meal followed by Holy Communion
(In Church)
For adults. A cooked meal with a spoken reflection on the stunning artwork in St. Mary’s chancel. Followed by Holy Communion. £6 per head. Please indicate attendance to Alan Keeler (020 8460 1827) by Palm Sunday.
Good Friday, 30th March
11am Walk of Witness This is organised by Churches Together in Central Bromley. The walk will start at the South Entrance to The Glades (Intu) by Ethelbert Road. TO BE CONFIRMED.
12 noon Quiet in Church The church will be open for two hours for personal prayer and reflection. Come any time.
2pm Good Friday Reflection A led reflection on the events of Good Friday, with music and readings.
3.30pm Hot Cross Bun Service Short family friendly service followed by ... Hot Cross Buns!
7.30pm Olivet to Calvary St. Mary’s Festival Choir will perform ‘Olivet to Calvary’ by John Henry Maunder. The music will be complemented by projected illustrations. Directed by Beverley Howard. Organ: Anne Clements.
Easter Day, Sunday 1st April
8.45am Holy Communion A simple, spoken service of Holy Communion in traditional language (Book of Common Prayer).
9.30am Easter Breakfast In the Church Hall. Everyone welcome! 
10.30am Family Communion Christ is risen! Easter Sunday celebration of the astounding resurrection of Jesus, for all ages, followed by refreshments and Easter Egg Hunt.
6.30pm Evensong An evening service in traditional languauge with hymns, psalm and an anthem sung by the choir. A peaceful, reflective end to the day.
