150th Anniversary in 2013

In 2013, it will be 150 years since St Mary’s was dedicated.

We are planning a year of interest and activity. The church PCC has approved the general outline of plans so far and soon the main events will be agreed and dates set. We hope to have a 2013 diary available before the end of the year containing this information.

There will be four main strands to our celebrations. These are:

Our events will include a Victorian Weekend, a Flower festival, Wedding Fair, Summer Fair and Beating the Bounds.

Under Prayer, Worship and Mission there will be 150 seconds (2½ minutes) sermons, a Civic Service, Prayer breakfasts, and a Bromley Mystery Play.

Impact Displays such as flower troughs, balloons, bunting and tree lights will appear.

And our Fund Raising will be through a '150 Soups' recipe book, pocket money items carrying St Mary’s 150th Anniversary logo, 'Slave for a Day', Silent Auction, 'Come and See our Gems' and a coffee shop.

We hope that our year will also have a lasting legacy, such as a cover for the piano and artwork.

It is still not too late for you to suggest events and activities you would like to see; to discuss your ideas and to offer help email Peter Fall at  peter@fallfamily.co.uk

Please support the celebrations in prayer, presence and practical help. We will be all the richer spiritually for your input.
